Are First Fire igniters able to be used with a PET2 timer for air start?
I have not been able to find any current specs. for them.
Davyfire seems to be gone…
I will not be flying it till next year. Just gathering info.
NO, DO NOT USE anything but an e-match with pretty much any timer or altimeter. That is a pretty good general rule. Almost all standard igniters (non e-match) draw way to much current for an altimeter or timer to fire them.
Tim Thomas with Giant Leap Rocketry sells e-matches. You don’t have to use DavyFire’s, as long as the match fits the same general profile, it will work.

What Art said. All you do is dip the e-match(es) in pyrogen. Members of the club can help you there. Ask Art.
Great 😆
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
