Found: 29mm Red & Black Rocket - Northern Colorado Rocketry

Sorry, been meaning to post this for a while but keep forgetting. Anyways, I found a rocket at the North Site while looking for BigEZ.

The rocket is all red except for the nose cone, which is black. It is about two and a half feet tall, 29mm diameter, four swept back fins, ¼ inch launch lug, Kevlar shock cord and what looks like the remnants of a purple Mylar streamer.

The rocket has a used single use 29mm motor in the back, which looks like an Apogee motor of some kind. Something else to note is that the flyer used the green 3M masking tape to ensure the motors retention, not a whole lot of folk’s use that type of tape because of it’s cost so if you know someone who uses green masking tape, it might be their rocket.

The rocket was definitely flown at Oktoberfest because it is in perfect condition, no signs of weathering. If this rocket is yours or you know whose it might be, speak up!

That would be mine. First launch at Octoberfest. Lost site right after ejection. Oh and by the way, engines still there isnt it?! 😉

Engine is still there. I found it about a half mile from the site on the hillside which would be Northeast of the site.

I am not sure if I will be at the December launch but I will definitely be at the meeting in January. I could try and send it with someone in December if I am not able to make it.

I live in Longmont. Longmont Estates to be exact. Im not sure where you are at. But I could stop by, if you were fairly close, and pick it up so I could try to loose it again at Decembers launch 😉 Either Or What ever works for you. Im up and down the Front Range from Budwieser plant In North FT. Collins to Castle Rock. The most expensive thing on the rocket is the green tape, and I’m kinda anxious to get it back

Sounds good. If I don’t end up at the launch in December I will try to send it with someone else. If that doesn’t work, it will be at the meeting in January.
