There’s a gun store right on the east side of College in Fort Collins that sells 4F.
One reason people will look at you funny when you ask for 4F is that it’s basically only used for flintlock rifles and then largely for the priming pan. Way too energetic for anything else. The coarser grinds are used for various weapons. I knew a guy who had a BP shotgun and he used 3F and not much at that. I had a BP .50 single shot pistol that used 2F many years ago. Large cannons back in the days before modern artillery used quite coarse powder.

Nope… The place in Ft Collins is No More. The Main Owner Passed away. His son didn’t want the business so it went away. The Name of the place was called Rocky Mountain Rifle Works.. Bummer deal. Been in there a million times. Its where I used to buy my 4F.
I went to the Blunderbus one day and the door was locked!
Just a bunch of junk inside. 🙄
So I ordered some online from a place back east. Problem was, it was a minimum of 5 pounds to order. So I ordered some meal “D”, 4F, 3F, and some 2F.
I figured the coarser stuff I would use for Guns and Cannons. 🙂
Considering, I am not trying to hold off the British at Bunker Hill,
I could probly loan some. 😉 Just let me know what Flavor.
