Hey,
OK, thanks. Love the area, just a mile from the pad is some great river fishing, been going up there for years. Fishing and rockets in the same day, was looking to repeat last years fun.

ParticipantIndeed – the “Dream Stream”… I haven’t fished there for many years, though I used to go down and fish the slicks w/ tiny BWO (Blue-Winged Olive) patterns. I have a great photo of an 8 or 9# rainbow I caught down there years ago. Some of the best dry-fly fishing I’ve ever experienced… Now I wanna play hookey
Has anyone fished it recently? Would a combo trip be a “cast and blast”???? 8)

Jeffrey Joe HintonModeratorI don’t fish – fly, ice or otherwise – but I can’t think of too many other places I’d rather participate in or just sit and watch a “Cast and Blast” event. You’re on to something there John.

“Cast and Blast”. There’s a new contest idea…. hmmm…..
I took the two kids up to the Dream Stream for a day this past fall. We all got skunked but the kids are still learning fly fishing skills and those fish are smart! Later that day we went to the stream below Tarryall and caught more on nymphs than we could possible imagine. That was good kid fishing.

Warren B. MusselmanModeratorMy S. Platte fishing has been strictly limited to winter tailwater fishing with scuds and very tiny nymphs in the Winter since fly fishing became a yuppie status symbol and I largely gave it up years ago when whirling disease hit. Most times you can’t swing a dead cat on the Platte in nice weather without getting in someone’s way. I prefer kayaking the open waters and annoying the fly fisherman now. When I go fishing, it’s backcountry waters far enough away from the road that the yuppies won’t walk in.

ParticipantI went down on Arkansas a week back, had lots of fun, not many folks out there. Got some keepers. Hey we need some new photos or videos in our album. Does anyone have some new rockets in the works? I have one of our burn… It will be the greeniest area come this Spring. 😉
