Dave Way and myself had a great time up at Hartsel over the last weekend. Saturday there was a little light wind, there were launches all day. Sunday was a blowout… We still had a great time. I was able to get my 4″ Nike Smoke up on a 75MM L585 Imax. GREAT boost to around 10,000 ft. Everything went ok until it landed on the top rail of the gate. It now has a 1 1/2 ” shark bite out of one of the fins! As a side note, on the way home we stopped for lunch and we noticed the dust had stuck to 8 bear paw prints on the back and side windows of the Subaru. 😯 We were camped in the middle of the campground. He had to walk thru several other camps to get to us. From the prints, I think he liked Daves Iris the best! 😀
Pity Dave didn’t try his L2 on Saturday – the bear would have probably left you guys alone. And the drunks around the campfire would have had more to talk about. Great time!
Doggone it! I may beg for a ride from you the next time, Joe. I DO work for the gas!
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
