ParticipantWho else other than Performance/Wildman carries hollow 29 and 38 nose cones?
I canceled my Wildman order last night, I’m tired of waiting with no responses to emails – ever!I need 2 of each. Who do you guys use? I guess I will have to try the other type or suck it up and bore out the PML ones I have.

I assume you have tried Performance? He may have some on the shelf… They can be tough to find. I’ll look later – I may have one or two 38mm? They’d be 5:1 conical….

KeymasterGreg,
I have a 29mm fiberglass conical nose cone that I got from Mike Bennett that im not going to use. It needs some fiberglass filling and a tad of TLC but is very light weight. Your more than welcome to it.

Thanks, I think that was one of the ones in the box that I was going to try and get……
I’ll pm you….JW, I haven’t tried performance directly. I figured that since Wildman probably didn’t have one, that meant Performance was out too and he would’t get around to making another one for a year or so….. 😯

I’ve been waiting 2 months for an order from Performance Rocketry (he collected the funds on May 25th). Curtis calls every couple weeks to tell me the ‘order is going out this week’ but he doesn’t respond to emails. I imagine he’s pretty busy with the increased interest in his kits or something but seems like a bad idea to order parts from him. He claims that my FG airframe and centering rings are done – just need to be shipped.

I have purchased Performance Rocketry stuff from Ken at Performance Hobbies with pretty good luck (these are two completely separate companies). I have always called first to make sure it’s in stock.
Now, Ken is not carrying much Performance Rocketry stuff as he has had the same problems that many have had with Curtis. He still has some remaining PR material so give him a call, he may be able to help with the 38mm NC.

Im thinking about getting into the Rocketry Bussiness.
Seems like a pretty forgiving bussiness.
Just a shrug from the customers when they dont get thier order. LOL.Im going directly to his supliers and get the raw parts I want.
Anyone here have a lathe ???? 🙂July 16, 2008 at 2:14 am #48575Jeffrey Joe Hinton
ModeratorTry Bob and Neil at Rockets Magazine/ Liberty launch Systems. They’ve been carrying alot of Performance products, mostly kits, but have a pretty good pulse response with Curtis. Just a thought.

ModeratorBasically, my experience with Curtis at Performance Rocketry is he doesn’t ship a damn thing until you’ve called him very irate at least twice and threatened to call the BBB and sue him. I once waited 6 months for a nose cone he supposedly had in stock when I called to order. My current trick is OK Curtis – here’s an order – when you have it boxed to ship and have a shipping label on it, call me and I’ll give you the credit card number.
