Anyone have any ideas or advice on how to build a curing oven? What type of heater, fan, etc. Needs to heat to at least 170 degrees or greater for the shrink wrap tape to shrink.
Any help is appreciated.
Ken.
A nice powerful incandescent lightbulb provides more than enough heat for the average oven…
That’ll get up to 180-200f pretty easily, and you can use several if one isn’t enough.
My oven is 2″ black polyisocyanurate foam with foil on both sides. It takes down and packs flat and has 3 150 watt light bulbs and a thermostatic controller from Grainger. Works awesome.

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
