Good names John. If it was me I would drop the name Raven so that there would be no confusion with Adrian’s Raven altimeter.
Note that I said “Raven, Shadow, Dark Star, Nighthawk, etc. are taken” – meaning I won’t use those names.
The Raven is not only Adrian’s altimeter, but the name of a competitor’s rocket as well 🙂
Bruce came up with “Darkhorse”… I like it!
I see that now…by fingers were working faster than the brain.

I got a really good name, a sky busting name……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..BLACKY !!! 😉 😀
Black rockets are pretty cool – but they get hot.
Remember to keep those baby’s in the shade while out in the field. My all carbon 3″ diameter rocket got almost too hot to handle while prepping it on a sunny July day on the grasslands. I was worried about the electronics inside so I made sure to give it a rest in the shade before flying.
Hey, how about that for a name; “Too hot to handle”
Shadowlands.

You could go with movie titles… “Pitch Black”, “Deep Black”, … or “A Touch of Evil”… “Black Sun”… “Deathproof”, Satan’s Disciple… nah, I don’t like any of them.
In the end, there is only one possible name… “Black Dog” (from the Led Zepplin song)
Warren
Yep. Can’t beat that.
“Ah-ah child way you shake that thing,
Gon’ make you burn, gon’ make you sting. “
Sounds like a CG needs to be centered a bit better, though. 😉
The old Stones’ song “Paint It Black” came immediately to mind. Would also sound pretty good over the PA prior to the countdown.
To quote John, “What is this thing called paint?”

naming it the “Black Hole” might be touchy…
Midnight Sun?
