I am planning to fly with a Contrail K777 and was hoping for someone to get me oriented with the GSE hardware and maybe provide a tip or two.
Anyone going to Octoberfest willing to give some advice?
Thanks!

I’ll be there and currently the only resident experts on the Hybrid GSE are Dale Netherton, myself and possibly Ed Wranosky. I’m more of a Hypertek guy myself, but I know which hoses go where and which wires plug in which sockets.

Doug,
Find me at Oktoberfest before you get ready to go out to the pad. I’ve got a nice fitting that makes it *way* easier to connect to the GSE and is much more user friendly. Does the Contrail require 24V? If so replace their resistor ignitor with and e-match and you’ll get the same results much easier!

Thanks to both of you for your help. I will look you up Friday night if you are around. Pratt Hobbies gave me the 24V booster box to step up the voltage to 24V. I think it will be simple to add it to the GSE. I am looking forward to the launch. Thanks again

If you don’t want to add the 24v booster box simply use a regular e-match instead of the resistor. That way ignition on the dual fill lines is near the same and you don’t have to worry about one taking the pad with it.

I probably need to talk to you some more about this. Maybe it will click better in person.

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
