Just wandering one thing of the icarus contest. The rules are vague and only say an I motor. Does EX motors qualify or no. I said that you could make a motor specifaclly for your rocket but, EX motors have many variables. Just wandering post what you think.
My understanding is that it is certified motors only, but one of my cohorts (John Wilke, Bob Messner, Jon Skuba, etc.) may need to correct me.

This is probably another tidbit that was lost on the transfer from the old website to the new one. The Icarus rules, when written, were very specific that you could use any CERTIFIED motor of 640NS or less. Note that this means you can fly an H… I had the Icarus bagged a couple of years ago on an H motor, and JS nipped me in December. Bottom line, certified motors only………
Darnt oh well worth a try
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
