I’m available to tow this coming weekend (both ways),,, but also need a ‘second’ for my potential L2 cert. attempt — I think Joe has my motor, I have the paperwork, still need to pass the written (Saturday AM).
God willing, the creek don’t rise, the winds stay calm, and I pass the exam… ❓
Jack, I will be there, but I’m Tripoli and judging by your signature line you are NAR?
PS What motor are you using?
Steve, yep,,, NAR. Although I have ‘dual citizenship’ for now, I’m using the NAR channels to do the L2 cert.
I’ll be torching a Cesaroni J210 (classic) motor (54 mm/ 2gr) – a smallish J (836 N-s) for a smallish rocket (5.9 lbs, including motor – 8:1 thrust:weight). According to RockSim, that will get me to Mach 0.75 and over 7,000 ft (shooting for L2 and the mile-high club at the same time). Got a dog collar, since I can’t see that far.
See you out on the range.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
