I am aiming for 8 – 8:15 for the trailer at the sight, maybe earlier if I can get the grandson moving. See you in the morning!
I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to sleep I’m so excited we are actually going to get to fly! See you all tomorrow.
I had to work today.
Was it a good launch?
What were the conditions?
thanks mike
For those who missed it, A Good Time Was Had By All !!!!!!At least DeBelle and I had an exceptional day. A big Thank You to all, who help set up and clean up at day end. And to our FIRE crew, we could a lost it there for a minute or two… Thanks everyone. Ken S. 😀
Oh geez, don’t tell me we had another fire
Yep. Not a large one, fortunately, due in part to luck and in part to the incredibly fast response from everyone when the cry of “FIRE” went out. It was probably 10 by 40 or 50 feet before we got it out.
at a pad? or a landing?
Pad. It took everyone by surprise though, since it did not occur immediately following a launch – it was a couple minutes after one. It must have been smoldering slightly for a while until the wind fanned it just right (or something like that).
Weather was nice, a bit of a breeze below, but at altitude not much. Pawnee is a bit green, but we could use a major rain before MHM.
Thanks to all!
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
