Lost 54mm Kestrel at North site 7/9/11

I lost a 3 Dogs Rocketry Kestrel 54 min diameter bird at the North site on Saturday July 9th. The rocket has a red nose, silver ebay, black booster, with blue fins. I flew it on a K300 54mm 6GXL motor. Good boost, wind cocked NW of pads, but the GPS DC20 didn’t reacquire at apogee. A similar Kestrel on an L935 landed 2.85 miles NEE of the pads 15 minutes prior to mine. Theoretically, it should have been near, but no sign of it.

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
