ParticipantTim, there is a rumor that there is a new single-use, full “I” motor out there. I’m sure Adrian and I are both interested 8) I won’t fly this at Oktoberfest, but would like to get the order in….

AdrianParticipantYou mean the AT350? It’s been out for awhile. The new full I from CTI (I216) should beat it, though, if you don’t mind the lack of a forward closure.
Speaking of which, I want two of those (I216) with a tapered aft closure
2x J420 with a tapered aft closure
3x I1299
1x J570I’ve been having so much fun making carbon tubes recently that I submitted an ambitious flight plan for XPRS. Anybody wanting to go over 25kft at that launch, deadline is today.
We’ll see how some test flights go at the TCO Fall Frenzy.

ParticipantAdrian, will CTI mold special reloads with the tapered aft ends? IIRC those are all 38mm reloads, which of course do not use a separate aft ring – the rear closure is molded with the reload itself, and of course it is gnurled. Having one tapered would be terrific, but I can’t imagine CTI would mold tapered and untapered ones?
Regarding the Aerotech “I” motor I was referring to – I don’t know what the name of the motor is, but I do know it was introduced as “new” at this year’s LDRS, so I don’t think it is the one you are referring to. It has a fiberglass motor casing and is single-use.

ParticipantIsn’t it the I65 8+ seconds of burn very cool. To bad its 54mm though
Count me in for L3 on Sunday

AdrianParticipantI have been told that a manufacturer-approved tapered aft closure/nozzle is available for 38mm reloads on request; they start with a standard closure/nozzle and turn it down.
Here’s the thread for the I350, it’s kinda new, but it seems like a long time ago that it was announced:

I guess the N1000 16 second burn will be twice as cool 😯
