bruce, there has been so many additions added over on Crash, I’m a little boggled. Options D and E, etc.
But this is pretty routine, I have watched a few of these now, and the process seems to work. whats cool is we would appear to have at least 10 or so flyers. Thats a pretty respectable start. Keep up the good, and thankless work.

I know, John. I’m not going to address CRASH’s other options. I understand the good intentions behind them offering more, and I respect that. The three are as they stand: A, B, C. This is NCR’s event, and this could go on for months, but I promised Joe I’d tell him what the events are Friday night. Don’t be boggled. 🙂

Hey I like C a lot, and thinks its gonna be much fun. Personaly, IME these things settle down after a bit, not months as CRASH manages to keep to its schedule. And it is our event.
Which promises to be a real treat to all those who attend. NAR has a ribbon deal, but given the crossover into expensive motors I’m hoping some hobby vendors will help out with prizes. Once we have the contest slate, I’ll be happy to make up some small posters to advertise at Hobbytown, Kolpar, etc. With luck next year NAR will allow for altimeter based events. Then we do altitude with an attitude!

We’ll see, won’t we? 🙂 I’m thinking about upscaling my NARAM-11 Sparrow (B or C–don’t remember) BG for an E… 1/16″ balsa wood to… ? 😉

My thoughts are to use pre-fabbed foam core wing and whatever, exotic ply, balsa, CF,–add spars? This has me stewing. I’m thinking basically a CF tube tail fuse,, maybe build around some soluble foam for the front fuze with tri-ax CF.

JSNow I’m stewing, stainless steel and a good ol’ Colorado thermal! 😈

Bruce,
Have you ever looked at the FAI hand launched designs. Amazing what these can do on a toss–actually more akin to a discus throw in some cases, but man can those model airplane guys build. 2 minutes or more on a hand toss? 😳 Thats just good ole slab balsa construction.
