From Tim Van Milligan:
The SCORE club will be hosting a rocket contest on April 20,21 at the Pueblo launch site (http://www.scronline.net). If you get a chance, please post this information on your web site and talk it up to your rocketry friends. Contest Events C Eggloft Altitude (altimeter) {18 points}A Altitude (altimeter) {10 points}B Superroc Altitude (altimeter) {15 points}1/4A Helicopter Duration {20 points}1/2A Boost Glider Duration {17 point} Total points = 80 This is pretty heavy on the altitude events (three of them), but they make it fast and easier to compete. You only really need one qualified flight, where duration takes two.
I’ll have altimeters that people can borrow, so that should make it easier too. The altimeters are the Jolly Logic AltimeterOne, which only fit 18mm tubes. So don’t make a minimum diameter A-Altitude rocket (Estes A3-4T motor).
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
