The wind prevented an early start. But when it got nice everything went well.
I launched two. Scorpion an a J285 went perfect. My Intimidator on a L1115
had problems. Came apart around 1500′ . The rocket was designed to use sheer pins
that I left them in the van. noticed it loading on the rail but it did not sink in.
Saturday I walked for some time and a lot of driving the roads looking
for the cargo bay (mid section) nose cone and chute. Was out two miles
walking, then another one mile from the lone tree to the south east. No luck.
I drove two miles in each direction. It was around 1500′ at the lone tree ( I think) floating on a nice wind.
One last good picture. I usually do not take any of my launches. But managed this one.

Can’t make it Sunday. Looks like morning may be a launch but calling for
winds in the afternoon.
Glad to see everyone there.
Great news. Joe called and someone found my missing Intimidator
parts. I will get later. Thanks to who ever found.
I would like to know where it landed?
Nice pics Mike, I really like the way you captured everyone in the warm happy mode.
Had a great time, fun bunch of folks.
Dave Way….
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
