Iowa is fine. It is the circumstances of my particular situation that prompted the editorial punctuation — not the geographical context. That aside, the rocketry waiver situation there makes me want to take up knitting.
I’ll probably be back for Oktoberfest this year, and I’ll make MHM an annual pilgrimage. And all should know that I’ll be monitoring those altitude records JIC someone tries to horn in 😉

Participantbut i really want complete flight logging so i can download the data into a spreadsheet and generate all kinds of interesting, and worthless, charts.
The G-Wiz MC2 provides for exporting data into a spread sheet. But for general data logging you have to go to the G-Wiz DCS. It also allows for exporting the data.

ParticipantJim said he hoped to have some by LDRS. I requested s/n 0000001 🙂
HA!!! you were to late as I requested #0000001 and #0000002………………………………………………………………………………………………………
About 4 months ago and again asked him when he was at my house showing a group of us the unit after the rained out MHM. Ive had the Data and spread sheet from Jim now on these products for about 6 months or better. In fact remember going to his place and holding his first beta unit. I was just not allowed to tell about it or share data till he released. VERY cool stuff here. I helped Jim a bit on Saturday with the test flights and I must say. VERY cool.

Participantthe timing of this could be fortuitous, as i’m just getting ready to by my first alt …. but i really want complete flight logging, like mawd does, so i can download the data into a spreadsheet and generate all kinds of interesting, and worthless, charts. it doesn’t sould like this will do that – only a few pieces of flight data. is this correct, or am i missing something?
No you are correct about this. These units are a NEW replacement for the RRC2X line of product with added features and capabilities at a great price point. The calibration in these is Top notch and thats one of the biggest things, as well as it actually operates off of real MSL base then gets actual real Altitude followed by a very accurate AGL flight data for altitude. The key is the very precise Calibration that Jim is doing. The other benefits are no dip switches. Its all programmable via push button tone and LED. You can change the tones that it operates in so 2 altimeters wont be making the same noise, You can change what tones it makes or doesn’t make, you can set a deployment event for a specific amount of time after apogee or even after a main altitude. Also the higher end units will go to 100 K as well as will have features I believe that have yet to be announced. This would be a great altimeter to fly in conjunction with a recorder as its reliable, High quality and its from the best in the game Missile Works.

Participantso, other than the mawd, what other data logging altimeters would you recommend?
Well depending on WHAT data you really want I would highly recommend as a logger the ARTS. Now we also have some other locals that are developing an altimeter from the TC group and it looks promising as a recorder/logger.
Ive flown the ARTS and the one from the guys at TC and liked them both for what they do. The ARTS still has some advantages over some of the other loggers.
BUT I bet eventually Jim will come out with a full featured full logging unit that has more then what you could imagine it would do. Besides Jim was already headed that direction some time back before most of these logging units ever even though of it or existed. I can remember him testing it… Now thats what I would love to have..

ModeratorYou’re way late – both of you. I told Jim last year when he first told me about these units I wanted dibs on the first 6 production units. I may even have given him money down.
