ParticipantI’m in it for the sound too 😛 There is nothing quite like a rocket going that fast, I love the whistle. Did you here the big one on Sat do it’s whistle all the way up. Boosts like that are like standing 3′ away from a train passing you. Tingles all over…..

If your talking about Mikes Thor, saw and herd it.
In fact, he tried to hit me with it when it was coming down under
chute!
I had to run and dive for cover when I was on the way out to get mine.
Landed 20 feet away.March 12, 2009 at 2:17 am #50081
Doug GerrardParticipantOK,OK, my apologies, the casing is only 29 inches long. Sorry, the memory isn’t what it use to be. Here is a couple of shots of it:

The offer still stands, if anyone wants to build a EX motor for it, you’re welcome to borrow the casing

Landed 20 feet away. That was it, I remember the Thor name. I though close only counted with horseshoes, hand grenades and something I won’t say here. 😆 I did see him with a remote control unit trying to steer it at you……
BTW, I thought you had some 38mm cases? I don’t have a 1080 case, biggest I have is for the J350. I’d like to get a 1080, but I’m going to get a hybrid setup if I can scrounge some money up.Doug, great offer, I hope someone takes you up on it.
I would love to, but haven’t tested any of my grains and would want more experience under my belt before I borrowed something from someone. James has been really busy from what I have heard, so who knows what he can do.March 12, 2009 at 3:51 am #50083SCOTT EVANS

You should of seen the Large Mouth Bass I caught once, it was 39″ long too. Pulled the boat half way across the lake trying to land it. Swamped other fishing boats from out wake as we went by!:wink:March 13, 2009 at 5:02 am #50084Anonymous

I ain’t skeered… I’m on it. Let me crank some numbers. I’ll extend my J570 rocket and put it in there (minimum diameter, of course!)

OK, maybe a little bit scared – but I’m not admitting it to this bunch 😯

Does anyone know how to track down Ed Krohne? He actually has a reload for this – IIRC the J1500 was a Kosdon East creation? (Ed used to fly with us many years ago). He had a rocket named “Whiplash”, and if memory serves me correctly it didn’t survive the boost on this motor.

I got mine directly from Frank in CA several years ago.

You made it through E in the alphabet contest, nothing can be that scary now… 😛
