Members and Friends,
NO GO FOR NCR AUGUST LAUNCH. Despite the sparse precipitation and some more in the forecast, the response from the USFS was there is not going to be sufficient precipitation before 8/5 to make it safe to launch with all the cured grass (fuel) on the prairie. Apologies for the disappointing news but it certainly is not an un-expected circumstance.
SCORE will be launching on Saturday, August 5th, from the Hudson Ranch and UROC is hosting their 22nd Annual Hellfire launch August 3rd thru the 6th on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Tripoli Colorado expects to be flying August 20th. Make plans for Chili Blaster #8 September 16th and 17th with SCORE.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
