It’s been decided – NO GO for OKTOBERFEST. This was the prudent and responsible thing to do, given the vegetative conditions and lack of precipitation affecting our spot on the prairie. Discussion of moving the November launch to the Atlas site has already started but it’s really dry and crispy there as well. Time to start the rain dances in earnest.
Tripoli Colorado may or may not be holding their Fall Fest, depending on the Red Flag situation in Park County. Currently looks like the Southern Colorado Rocketeers may have the only place to launch. SCORE’s next launch is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th – featuring Odd Roc’s and a Pot Luck Thank You gathering for another successful Chili Blaster and year of flying.
Up for a road trip? Tripoli Las Vegas is hosting their Oktoberfest on the Jean Dry Lake Bed – Friday thru Sunday October 18,19,20. Find details here: http://www.tripolivegas.com/
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
