We are NO GO for Oktoberfest. Probably not unexpected news. Colorado, and other western states remain in a state of moisture deprivation. The Forest Service is presently removing livestock from the Pawnee grassland based on the dry conditions and lack of forage production. The weather forecasts are not in our favor. We are again looking at a dry winter. I wish I could present you with happier news. We are calling the October launch a NO GO now.
Other launch opportunities remain, all weather pending. CRASH launches are held on the first Sunday at 9 AM and the third Saturday at 9 AM of every month. SCORE holds launches the first and third Saturdays of every month. The San Luis Valley Rocketeers will be flying on Saturday, October 8th and Tripoli Colorado will launch October 16th. Need a road trip? Tripoli Las Vegas will host their Oktoberfest Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 14th – 16th.
It’s time to step up your rain dance routines and start praying for snow.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
