Forums › Knowledge Base › North site altitude
I think it used to be on this site somewhere–may still be; I thought it was in the directions… but does anyone know the altitude of the North site? Thanks!
I think it’s about 5200 ft.
You can try Google earth and it will be close.
I thought it was around 5300…
It’s in that area though…
EDIT: Google earth says 5446 at the windmill…
My GPS and several others seem to agree on 5430′ at the pad area.
Warren
I always use ~5450′ for the N site and for what it is worth, ~5000′ at the Atlas site…
Thanks, guys. It’s now loaded in my sim.
The FAA has used 5430′ for the North site and 4830′ for the Atlas site on our waiver information. Plus or minus a few feet here or there shouldn’t affect sims by more than a few feet.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
