ParticipantStrange weather pattern – my office is between Greeley and Windsor, and they got maybe an inch there. We got 7-8″ in Windsor, but as you go west there is a LOT more snow. I wonder what they may be getting up near the launch site?

ParticipantIt was coming down pretty hard there yesterday, or at least in Pierce… Lots of wind a big snow drifts. I will know more tonight when I see my boss, assuming he makes it down…..
But, they are calling for 60* on Sunday, so I really hope it’s not a mud hole up there next weekend.October 29, 2009 at 5:06 pm #51349Steve Jensen
ParticipantI’m planning to have a new go for TRA Level 2 Cert (after my zipper/core sample in Oktoberfest) during next week end’s launch (Nov 7).
I’m bringing two rockets for the attempt. So if I botch the first attempt I can try again in rocket 2. Is this allowed? Or is there a waiting period between attempts?
Hopefully, I will not be getting a mud sample…

ParticipantA bit of snow would be good for skidmarks….no fire hazard!
I buy one off Tim just to fly – if next week is good….. Not many opportunities to fly them this year.

You are allowed as many attempts as you have rockets/money.

Keep going until you pass or run out of stuff to fly…. if you pass on first attempt or second…. keep flying.

ModeratorAt the Nov. 7 launch I will be bringing a couple pots
of chili. Heated up on the tail gate of My green 1970
Dodge PU. I will supply plastic bowls, spoons and
garbage bag. I was waiting for the weather forcast,
looking pretty good. Chili while it lasts. We got 26″ up here and for the most part all is gone.
I would think it will be the same at the North Site. I
would expect some snow left in some odd places.Rockets Magazine has released the MHM 2009 DVD.
I re-worked My ‘Salvage 1’ rocket to take a sugar
motor and added electronics. (If there is a sunday
launch.) If not, an adapter will use an H180. on
saturday. I will probably launch My Thor-x and
a couple others for good measure.Any more word on a research launch?

ModeratorI expect to hear back and/or will persist with the USFS until we get an answer regarding the possible launch on Sunday. Saturday should be a go regardless, 9 to 4 for HPR waiver. We probably need some volunteers to tow and help with the range, and I hope to push the button at least a hundred times to take back the lead for the LCO, even if I have to fly that silly Area 51 saucer 45 times.

ModeratorNow Joe, you know I’ve won the LCO contest 3 years running…
