Ed,
I think I can make it. Can you send me directions?
I have about 20 pairs of clips, plus other electrical supplies and tools. I’ve mentioned to Joe about my idea of putting a connector on the end of the launch cables that allows rapid changeout of a finer gauge wire and clips. Anderson powerpoles work really well in this regard. This way we can keep a stock of clip leads and not keep cutting the 120v heavy wire shorter and shorter. The heavy wire also causes problems with the smaller motors as the wire is stiff and heavy, often pulling out the ignitors or bending them.
thoughts?

Bad news about Oktoberfest. But wise and common sense prevails the itch to launch birds.
It has been so dry and with grass growth in early Spring and drying out,
excellent idea to cancel Oktoberfest. Besides, we have other fine places to launch around the state. Just have to travel a little.
Cleanup this weekend will get us ready for next time………..whenever…
Is cleanup day still on? If so i’ll be there.

Yes, the cleaning day is still on. We just don’t have that impending deadline (bummer, eh).
Swing by if you can.

Sorry I couldn’t make it, guys. I’m even more disabled than I will admit. 😯
😀 Bruce, got it covered. We cleaned everything fairly well, made new connectors and some new clips, shipshape and secured, for next launch, whenever that occurs.
Do a jig for November launch and hope for alot of moisture, maybe a light dusting of snow. Any moisture will help. If not North site, maybe Atlas.
Hartzel looking better chance for me, if weather cooperates. Just need to talk the DeBelle into going down there also.
Hope you are doing ok. We gotcha covered,
thanks for wanting to helpout anyway.
Blue Skies…… 😆 😆 🙂
My apologies for not making it. All morning Sunday I was saying to my wife “I’m forgetting something – I’m supposed to be doing something other than sleeping late and doing brunch in bed for both of us..”

Mussleman… you dog. 👿 We got your number. You owe us.
Let’s see… How about after launch refreshments, I mean the Good Stuff,
for the cleanup crew that DID make It out of bed, to be there!!!!
How about.. Our first good weather launch in say.. April 2011..
I’ll remember, so will the rest of the crew. If you don’t deliver on the GOOD STUFF.. you are toast!!!!!
😈 😆 😆 😆
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
