I’m hoping to break 7K in my slightly modified L2 bird. Still working out the DD bugs. It’s come back fine evrytime it’s flown, but each time something hasn’t worked exactly right. So my goal is a flawless DD flight to about 7.5K on a K550 or similar AMW load.
I will be flying a 30m Macpara eden III wing along with a Fresh Breeze 122 paramotor before and after the waiver opens and closes as low and as high as I want.
Yes some ask how high, well 18K is not unheard of but now you are over an altitude that planes don’t have a speed limit and they have the right away over me. So i plan on staying a little lower.
However for those interested Bear Grylls has used a supercharged parapmotor to fly over mount Everest at 34,000 feet so they can get high:

My son Robert and I plan to be there all three days, with a friend (Keith) who’s flying in from Oregon to hang out with us.
I hope to fly YikStik for an L3 cert on Saturday morning.
Keith is bringing at 4″ Polecat Nike Smoke, plans to try an L1 cert on Friday afternoon, maybe an L2 later in the weekend if all is going well.
Will have a couple other new rockets and a bunch of older ones with us, hope to get in a bunch of flights if the weather is cooperating!

A scratch built for my L1 cert on an H123W and if all goes well then an I211W assuming I can acquire the reloads from Tim on site. According to Rocsim I should see about 6k ft on the I! Woohoo. 😀 Otherwsie it’ll be all Estes type stuff for me.
Sorry, guys, I won’t be able to fly this year. For financial reasons, I had to make a tough decision this morning. Until I find gainful employment, I am grounded. 🙄
I can donate $20.00 to the cause.
Very kind of you, Mike. But I must take care of my family first, then rockets. 😉
I hope you still plan to be there Bruce. As we all know it’s a great time regardless of what you are or aren’t doing.
I’m not sure. I haven’t missed one in four years. I have the money, but I don’t know about the future. Whether I can make it or not depends on any good news this week. Any hint of possible employment then I might be able to fly or at least come. I just can’t let Tim hold any motors for me until I know for sure. No big deal. Might be down temporarily, but I’m definitely not out. Now, back to who’s flying what. 😉
I’ve got a J350 reload in my magazine with your name on it if you want it Bruce.

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
