well, I have tried about every combination in the settings menu. If I change the translation to Standard JIS the gap in the datastream disappears in hyperterminal, but still remains once captured into notepad.
I manually removed the line ends in the text file. Then pasted that into the template, and everything works fine, but man is that time consuming.
Problem is I have messed with it so much I think the data is corrupted. I’ll have to fly it again.
Is anyone else using the Parrot? If so, any pointers.
Mark
Mark,
Do you have the orignal Excel data file? I could write a macro that remove every other blank line. That might give you the simplified data you need without the corruption.
If so, shoot me an email with the file attached.

Ed,
I don’t think the excel file is corrupted. I think it’s my flight data. I have downloaded, deleted, edited, cut, pasted ….. You get the picture. It’s just now I’m getting data that doesn’t even match what I started with. So I’ll Fly it again, and try again.
Adrian says he uses Excel 2003. Maybe I need to get a copy and try that. We’ll get it working. I’m sure it has to be a setting somewhere I’m missing.
Thanks for the offer
Mark
I’m planning to be there at Octoberfest. I’ll help you set up Jim Yelle’s download program. I also have some formulas you can use in Excel to remove the extra lines; I was just hoping to get you a cleaner solution so that you don’t have to do the extra work-around steps.
Unless you have erased the flights, you should be able to re-download them without flying. And you can always start recording a new flight test just by holding the altimeter steady vertically and then doing a 6mph upward arm movement. But sometimes it’s nice to have an excuse to fly again.
Excuse to fly definitely.
Thanks Adrian.
I think if I could see how it’s done correctly that would help a lot.
Besides we can’t have you setting all the records without having to keep an eye on the rear view mirror. Whats the fun in that
See you there

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
