you got it…running both rail guides and the tubes!
need to take care of some pressure relief holes in the NC; need to finish paint, but construction is COMPLETE. took long enough and about 3 times more $ than originally planned, dammit it better fly well!
well, this is as far as I got in the last minute effort to finish it up for MHM, but alas for reasons beyond my control I couldn’t make it to the launch. I heard the weather wasn’t so hot, so I’ll just have to get it wrapped up for Oktoberfest!!!
please tell me you masked those rail guides before painting! I can’t tell from the photo’s.
Doug
partially masked, but masking not removed (paint is still wet in photos, hence the gloss) will still have to remove a little paint from them 😀
Holy crap time flies (and my L1/L2 rocket doesn’t 😆 ) Anyway. This summer has kicked my but. Moving shop, working 2 jobs, etc. etc. etc. I need to wrap this hunk of junk up and get it done!
Will be finishing it up in the next few weeks before Oktoberfest. Photos up shortly!
and now here it is, a year after I was supposed to have this BDR done…I’ve forgone the paint and will just fly the dang thing at MHM.
need to renew my NAR membership and try for L1, maybe L2.
we’ll see.
Well best of luck to you on both L1 and L2. I’ll be there.
Warren
Jeffy I hope this rocket is done…. I’ll be one of your observers if you want for L1 and 2…. Dad is going for L2 also and I have 3 J motors ready and waiting (cases) Im not buying your reloads 🙂 I think Joe Hinton can administer the tests so i hope you are ready for that too! but It will be awesome if you and dad are both L2 so we can all attack a L3 lol
all renewed, rocket is done with a rat style paint job. L1 and L2 is my goal for this weekend. got $$$ to burn!!!
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
