I have in mind, one long burning motor, I would like to try this spring. It doest pack as much punch up front, but it will take the Rocket a little over mach according to Rocksim(yes I know its not perfect). Rocksim keeps defalting to a 36″ rod, which says the Rocket is a little slow at the end for stability. 6 feet I think will be fine.
The length of a rail, one more thing I didnt know till now. Thanks Bruce.
I didnt measure one the last time I was out. 😉

Actually our 1010 and 1515 rails are mostly 8′ sections although we do have a couple old Blacksky rails (same as the 1010 for buttons) that are 6′ and a couple sections of 1515 that are only 6′ long. Figure on 8′ for a standard 1010 or 1020 rail.

What Warren said. Another curious question, what long burn motor are you going to use? Cesaroni moonburner?

Actually, wrong Moon Burners (Cesaroni). I looked those up today, 98 mms of WOW! Level 3 stuff out of my League right now, and price range.
I was actually refering to Loki’s 54 mm K350 Moon burner.

That’s a great motor – I have one sitting in my buddy’s magazine right now and planning on flying it in a minimum diameter bird either at Mile High Mayhem or in June.

Do you have a case for that motor. I need to check fit.
Now that L2 is out of the way, Ill start working on that rocket again.

Yes, I do have the case for it. I’m not sure exactly where, but I’ll dig for it before the annual meeting on Saturday.

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
