Just curious how many might be headed out to the Atlas site this next weekend? Obviously Mother Nature bats last and she may keep us all away… if the forecast is accurate (45 and partly cloudy) I’m curious who might be headed out thattaway?
I’m 50/50 myself. I have a biz trip that I really should take…. but I’ve had just about all the travel I can stand for a while. Don’t tell my boss, but I may call in sick 😀
If the forecast isn’t too bad I’m trying to make arrangements to be there. Definitely a bit itchy to fly something.
Given that basically ALL of our launches since Mayhem have been cancelled due to fire danger, I most definitely will drive out if just for the social aspect. Both projects I have ready to fly are too big for the Atlas site (an M and an L), I doubt I’ll be flying, but I definitely want to be there.

The July launch happened in there.
Yeah – I know Art. However, I was on the river and a river trip beats rockets hands down every time. It’s like your priorities – girls definitely trump rockets and maybe beat flying, but a river trip beats them all – especially with girls along.
Curiously, Art does have them about right in order of Total Cost of Ownership.
I dunno, but it seems to me that airplanes cost more than girls and girls cost more than rockets.
I mean – think about it. An M motor is a paltry $300 or so. Girls easily cost more and airplanes far more.

Back on topic:
Go for launch on Saturday, December 4th. Clear to partly cloudy skies, temps in the 40’s. Help requested. Hope to see you out on the range.
What time would I need to arrive to be useful for range setup?
Has anyone volunteered for towing yet? If not, I will be happy to do it.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
