No one knows the UNpredictability of the prairie better than Joe and/or the founding members. I’ve packed my car… not the black powder motors… remember thermal cycling is bad… and I’ll get to Mike Konshak’s by 7:30 in the AM, after getting up at 5 in the AM. For me that is a real stretch and sacrifice. 😯 Ken (new2hpr), I’ll have your 29mm airframe, JW I’ll pass my Arreaux on to you as an option for your F-G and above sojourn, and Doug (djsrocs), I’ll pass the old Estes cones and nozzles on to you. Doug, I’ve wondered why I hung on to those pieces all these years… now I KNOW why. 8) IF we get rained out, I’ll pass things on to Joe, el Presidente, if he will accept them. There is only one thing worse than getting rained out, that’s NOT showing up when it’s NOT raining. 😉 Plus, it’s always good to shake the hands of old and new friends.

Joe,
I’m coming unless it’s raining tomorrow morning. If you could, would you please remember my little green Dragonfly Jr.? Thanks.

Scott, I won’t bring the 4 electronics books on the chip you’re interested in, because of the possible moisture. Just bring pencil and paper to MHM.
JW, hi.
Joe, hello.
All, whatever. 🙄

Last I heard, Scott, Tim will be there, as he always is, even having to drive 300 miles, or so, to get there. But IF I see a cancellation on this side of that big hill, I’ll give him a call to turn back.

Yep, we were rained out. Look at it this way… the more moisture we get, the less chance of fire restrictions stopping launches this summer.
Here we go again:
Doug, Joe has your Estes parts.
Ken, Joe has your 29mm airframe.
JW, Joe has your AT Arreaux. Chute’s tucked inside, spacing tubes for using different motors are in the payload section.
Done deal.

Jeffrey Joe HintonModeratorAnother meeting of the Northern Colorado Rocketry Optimist club met at 9 AM this morning, held in the spitting rain at the North Site. Over a dozen members and friends gathered with PMA (Positive Mental Attitudes) only to be slighly discouraged and dismayed at the very low cloud ceiling and continuous but light misty rain. After much discussion and considerations, resolution was acheived with an overwhelming majority of votes, to abort attempts at contesting in the weather. Negotiations for re-scheduling the Pawnee Pioneer Open will be persued. The gathering was not a total loss, however, as Rick McDonald aced his Level Two Cert test and two members registered for the upcoming Mile High Mayhem which coincidently was originally scheduled for this wet weekend. It is what it is was the general lament and at approximately 10:45 our meeting was officially adjorned. On a positive note, the prairie needed the rain and should be in primo condition for Mayhem in three weeks.
