Any big (10′ and up) chutes available for loan out there? Ideas? options?
Thanks, Steve
King size bed sheet! 😀
Sorry…… couldnt help myself. 😉
Hey Gang! We have a bit of a snafu with the planned parachutes and may will need to do some scrounging. We had planned for a 16′ or so chute for the booster section .. about 80 lbs .. but looks like that isn’t going to happen. We have a number of options but would love 1 big one vs multiple small ones. I have 2 – 10′ and 2 -8′ chutes. 3 – 10′ chutes should handle the booster and we should have room for that. The upper sections will be closer to 35 lbs each. I was planning one of the 10′ chutes for each section .. don’t believe the 8’er is big enough for the 35 lbs.

I don’t have a big chute, but I’ll bring along the XXL deployment bag I won at the raffle at the Colorado rocketry dinner.
So is anyone interested in doing a group dinner one of the nights, I think Sunday after the launch would be best? A pot luck type thing maybe? I know Dave expressed an interest.
I can make a big pot of Chili.
I am planning on bringing a smoked brisket and maybe some Blue Bell Ice Cream or I can make a pot of baked Bar-B-Que beans.

We’ll bring homemade macaroni salad and potato salad.
Hello all,
I am still working on the motors for the Proton M and still need help with hardware. Several people offered the use of cases, I still need several 54mm 1400 cases, forward closures and snap rings. I will have new nozzles for the motors so that there will be now wear to yours. I also would like to see if there is a 75mm 6000 case and forward closure that we would use to make things go a little smoother.
If you have any of these, please let me know and what would be the best way to get the hardware from you.
Thanks
James, from the cases that I got from you, I have two that are 17″ and two that are 18″ in length. I do not know if any of those are 1400’s. You tell me. If they will work, you can use them. Just let me know.
Thanks Near, they are to big. We do need to get together and put something them for you;-)
I can bring some beverages:-)

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
