Wish our rockets put up shock waves like this!
Woah!
One time last year..
At the North Site a rocket left the pad and made a strange
(clear) disturbance in the air.
It was noted by the LCO at the time.
You had to be in the right place at the right time. And
the duration was very, very short.
I ment to ask at the time ‘What It Was’ and forgot.
Any feed back.
Was that a mach disturbance?
Hard to say, honestly (especially since I don’t remember the event). I’d be surprised if it were mach-related, but it’s not impossible.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
