North Site - Pawnee National Grasslands
Saturday April 6th, 2013
Launch Summary
Regularly scheduled club launch - back to the North Site. Thanks to Bear for towing both days - out on Saturday and back on Sunday. 20 different flyers put up a total of 38 flights - 26 Class 1 and 12 Class 2. Notable flights have to include Roxanna Safipour's Quantum Leap II, I300 staged to I195R, Scott Evan's Kestrel shot to 11,496' and the NAR L1 cert flights by Steven Brand on his scratch built TKB II. The usual disclaimer about flights being listed in a random order as the cards have been sorted and shuffled a few times. Motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged flights and clusters credited to the largest motor used. A's=3, B's=3, C's=4, D's=1, E's=1, F's=6, G's=8, H's=6, I's=4 and J's=2
Weather Conditions
Pretty much as predicted or forecast. Windy. Day started with clear to patchy clouds in the sky. A gradually growing overcast crept in above with winds constantly growling out of the NNW. Late night - actually - very early morning sprinkle of misty rain fell Saturday evening/Sunday morning. Not enough to make much of a difference to the extremely dry conditions.
