North Site - Pawnee National Grasslands
Saturday October 1st, 2005
Launch Summary
Day Two - Waiver opened at 8 AM to clear skies and a gentle ground breeze that rapidly calmed to almost nothing, allowing for an incredibly busy day on the range. Flyer's meeting at 10 AM let folks know the much anticipated Event Horizon was suffering technical difficulties and would not be flying. Still, the range saw some awesome shots and the hybrid pad lofted it's share, including Bill Begg's M powered Astrobee D and Larry Bowser's "Logical Progression" Level Three Cert flight, among others. Beer Boosts and a few Single Shot Sweepstakes flights, a few shots for altitude records, a few staged flights, and lots and lots of other exciting flights kept the LCO's and RSO busy all day. Flights are not posted in the order they occurred but the number of flights is correct.
Weather Conditions
Fall on the prairie. Early morning ground breeze with cooler temps gave way to mild temps growing to warmer and calmer winds. An absolutely stunning day.
