North Site - Pawnee National Grasslands
Saturday May 26th, 2012
Launch Summary
Day Two (Saturday) of MHM. Typically the busiest day of the weekend when the weather cooperates. 55 different flyers put up a total of 104 flights including L1 Cert for Heather Driscoll, L2 for Eric Watkins, Craig Perkins and Cary Reeves and a "window" shot by Sean Serell and Doug Krohn to 27,000' and change. A little bit of Alphabet action from Bret Packard and John Marvin. The usual disclaimer about motor usage and clusters, staging and the Break down as follows: A's=13, B's=11, C's=18, D's=1, E's=8, F's=9, G's=10, H's=14, I's=6, J's=6, K's=4, L's=1 and M's=3.
Weather Conditions
Heavy, pea soup like fog greeted the morning early risers but eventually burned off for clear skies and erratic winds from all points of the compass. Fairly constant breeze all day, with surprizing lulls and directional shifts. Afternoon thundershowers never really threatened but the wind was a constant reminder of Mother Nature's eminent pressence.
