Launch Summary

Regularly scheduled launch.  Apologies if I get any of the information incorrect - I wasn't there.  Special thanks to Jon Skuba for coordinating the waiver and launch. Thanks to Jack Matthews for towing out and to Mark Jeffords for towing the trailer to Ed Dawson's for the MHM CleanUp.  Notable flights and congrats to Scott Corliss and Mike Huber for their L3's, to Erik Berlin for his L2 and to the Valkyrie Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol for ALL of their flights.


All -
Despite moderate winds for most of the weekend, NCR's May club launch was quite successful. We boosted 136 flights on Saturday, with the Civil Air Patrol being responsible for at least half of those, and another 36 on Sunday.
Congratulations to our two new L3 members, Scott Corliss and Mike Huber. Both had huge, successful flights.
Thanks to all those who helped set up the range and assisted other fliers with their endeavors. Special thanks to our LCO's: Ed Dawson, Scott Corliss, Mark Jeffords, and Major Tom (no musical pun intended) of the CAP. And also to our clean up crew: Vic Davis, Mike Brazell (sorry if I misspelled it), Mark Jeffords, Mike Huber, John Nelson, and Steve Jenson.
Volunteer efforts are what make our launches memorable events. Please look for a message from Ed Dawson regarding the equipment clean-up "party" in the next few weeks (before Mile High Mayhem). The equipment needs a LOT of clean-up and repairs.

All launch events will be conducted using nationally approved/accepted range safety practices. The launching of rockets on NFS land is normally prohibited under a Forest Service Region 2 fire regulation. The issuance of NCR’s permit allows launches to take place by exempting the Holder from that regulation for approved launch events only. All launches, other than those conducted by the Holder during approved launch events, are outside the scope of this permit and are prohibited by Forest Service regulations.
