NCR Club Launch (Day 2 of 3)

Launch Summary

This is Day 2 of the first NCR 3-Day event. This day can only be described as awesome. The perfrect spring weather coupled with an unprecedented number of flyers to set a all time club record for the number of flights in a single day. It was also a day marked with other record setting events. John Wilke made a perfect Level 3 flight with Argos on an AMW-M1350WW, proving that if at first you don't suceed, try again, and again, and again.... At least 8 L1 and L2 Cert attempts and several altitude record attempts kept the pads and certification teams busy. Jim Amos of Missleworks was there to provide a steady supply of motors and electrnoics for those in need. He was able to squeeze in a demo flight of his 3" Rocket on an AMW K975. Nadine ( of Photography by Nadine ) was there to capture flight images.

Weather Conditions

A beautiful spring day was ordered by Club President Joe Hinton and seconded by the TRA Prefect Alan McBride. It must have helped intimidating mother nature like that, because we had picture-perfect flying weather. Temperatures rose into the 80's, with late day scattered clouds moving over the range. Calm winds aloft with only occasional gusty breezes at groud level afforded high-altitude flights that landed within sight of the pads.
