NCR Club Launch - August 2014

Launch Summary

Another regularly scheduled club launch.  Extra thanks to Mike Shinn for towing the trailer out and to Jack Matthews for towing back on Sunday and more thanks to the aforementioned and Mark Jeffords for their help with range set up.  And then add Eli Boardman, Vic Davis and Ted Apke to the cleanup crew, along with Jack and Mark. 35 flyers lofted 49 flights - 28 Class One and 21 Class Two.  Notable flights include Kevin Farrell's L1 cert on his "Carlitta Carlotta Boom-Boom Fanny Pants" and Team CU's SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) flight. Motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged and clusters credited to the largest motor used.  A's=2, B's=1, C's=3, D's=1, E's=4, F's=2, G's=15, H's=9, I's=8, J's=3 and 1 L.  

Weather Conditions

Prairie remains very green but showing signs of heat stress.  Beautiful dog days on the range but a little more wind than ideal.  Temps in the 80's, with clear skies until late afternoon showers threatened.  Most of the rain fell to the south and east of us but what little that did fall, helped cool off the evening air.  A glorious and full super moon and the beginnings of the Perseid Meteor showers were visible deep into the night.
