Launch Summary
Regularly scheduled club launch. Thanks to Ken Reilly for towing both ways and to Ed Dawson, LCO of the Day. 24 flyers put up 93 flights, and all before 2:30 when we closed the waiver. Huge thanks to everyone that helped set up and pack away the range especially Rick McDonald and Mike Shinn. Jon Skuba had the first flight of the day, (also for the year) and the first Alphabet contest flight. 6 others have started the contest. Notable flights include Chad Moore's B altitude shot to 985', Deb Billing's first shot with Sky Rider, Bill Tayler's "Hunter" on a K185, Adrian Adamson's un-named rocket testing the Parrot on a H999 and Tim Thomas' Nike Smoke leaving the pad in a big hurry on a K2045 Vmax. Flights are listed in a shuffled order and motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged flights and clusters creditied to the largest motor used. 1/2A's=1, A's=16, B's=12, C's=20, D's=9, E's=5, F's=6, G's=7, H's=10, I's=2, J's=3 and K's=2.
Weather Conditions
Exceptional weather for February. The calm following a high pressure system moving out to the east and a low pressure system coming in from the southwest provided clear skies and calm, almost static winds aloft until early afternoon. Temps might have reached in to the fifties briefly.
