Hi, I’m writing a paper for school about hobby rocketry and was hoping that someone could give me some information about the club.
1. How many members does NCR have?
2. How many people typically show up to a launch? I mean an average launch like the April 1 launch. Also how many are expected to show up at Mile High Mayhem?
Any help would be appreciated.

Typically, at a normal launch, there are perhaps 100 flights by 20-40 fliers. There are also some spectators and family. At last Oktoberfest, there was around 320 launches, and at lats MHM, there was around 400, probably by around 50 fliers. You can find more launch-specific information on the “launch logs” tab. As for number of members? No clue – I’ll have to wait for someone else to answer.April 30, 2006 at 7:00 pm #42181Warren B. MusselmanModerator
Ask our club president, Joe Hinton at IFlyRockets@yahoo.com.

Actually, I don’t have hard numbers on the membership roll other than to say NCR posts out launch announcements to over 200 members and friends. Our club membership varies almost as constantly as the weather and whether or not folks stay current with their dues and affliations with the National Organizations of their choice, NAR or TRA. Members come and go but the fun and thrills last forever.May 1, 2006 at 12:29 am #42183Dale NethertonParticipant
As of May 1st 2006 the membership for NCR is as follows:
There are 86 paid and active members.
There are 20 members that will probably renew their membership at MHM and are only about a month or so overdue on their membership dues.
We have 82 members that are inactive but we keep them in our database in case they wish to rejoin NCR. This happens often, after being apart from rocketry for a year or so they come back and are usually more active than before.
So that’s 188 people that have been with NCR, each has been active with in the last two or three years.
Hope that answers your question please let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks everyone for the quick response. The more I read about rocketry the more I think I might want to give it a try myself at some point.

If you come out to see our Mile High Mayhem event next weekend (Saturday recommended), you’ll be hooked – I guarantee it.

I’m thinking of coming out for MHM. I know Saturday is the day you are sending up the big three motor rocket. That would be something to see. I’m going to try and make it.
