Another great weekend for flying in Colorado!
Launch logs are being entered, some records are already available.
Vic Davis doesn’t disappoint with his “Mary Poppins” umbrella rocket.

Members and Friends,
High Skies in July 2019 has received the green light from the US Forest Service for the coming weekend of July 6th and 7th on the Pawnee National Grassland at NCR’s North Site. Our waiver will be a constant 20,000’ AGL, with “windows of opportunity” for higher altitudes shots on Saturday and Sunday. We anticipate h…[Read more]

Hi all. I have been using my DC30 collar for some time. As usual never needed it when it was installed.
But anyway. I, in most cases have left the collar intact and attached it to my shock cord below my nose
cone. (Later builds, it is in the cone.) With great luck. The last launch I was at, had a chute tangle
and the collar impacted and broke…[Read more]

The level 2 exam can be administered at the launch site. Give Joe Hinton a heads-up prior to the launch.

Hey everyone, I know this sounds like a basic question, but I am not having much luck with my google-fu.
How is the level 2 HPR administered? Do I request a copy of the test from the NAR, take the test and send it back to them?
Thanks,
Andy

Tripoli (and NAR) have guidelines and rules for construction materials. Tripoli published this additional letter detailing the use of metals: http://www.tripoli.org/Portals/1/Documents/Safety%20Code/Metal%20in%20Rocket%20Construction%20v2.0.pdf

I’m certainly not the best person to address all of your questions. So hopefully others will also respond.
My advice is that you to use our range as a safe place to static fire any motors, we have the area and appropriate permits. Generally speaking, Sunday launch dates are designated for research days. The club likely has some of the ne…[Read more]

Let’s fly some rockets. Tripoli Colorado is GO for launch on Sunday, April 28th. You can stay informed by checking their website at http://www.tripolicolorado.org or Facebook Tripoli-Colorado (public group), or checking your e-mail.
And the District Ranger says NCR may proceed as planned for our Space Race Celebration, subject to the normal prec…[Read more]

Hello, I am new to the game of rocketry so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I have spent the last few days reading up on laws and such that are required to build rocket engines and it is a little vague. I am a Chemistry student at UCCS and I am planning on building a hybrid rocket engine. As of now, I have no plans on actually launching the…[Read more]
